BG’S STORY
BG’s was born out of the desire to create clothing for young, professional women in the urban environment, yet who are deeply connected to their hippie roots. The brand’s philosophy is to provide women with high quality, luxurious clothing, with fabrics sourced locally and internationally, including France and Italy. The aim here is to provide a comfortable, casual and sometimes fun take on essential items for the city.
HOUSE OF BESTE GUREL
Beste Gurel approaches her design process from a philosophical and spiritual stand-point, reflecting her own ”flower-child” stance. She strives to combine this sensibility with pieces that are key to the wardrobe, and tat are timeless and easily combined with other items of clothing. Memory, dreams and the environment are what informs Beste’s creations.
About Beste Gürel
Beste Gürel, born in 1982 stepped into the art world with her paintings in a workshop where she discovered her interest in fashion. She attended the London College of Fashion, and continued her studies at Paris Parsons School of Design. After working with world-renowned designers such as Stella McCartney and Amanda Wakeley, she returned to Turkey in 2007 and graduated from Fashion and Textile Design branch of Yeditepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Then she continued her career at Vakko and acted as a styling consultant to important brands in the market. In 2009, she opened her own boutique in Çukurcuma, afterwards she relocated her store to Nisantası, an upscale neighborhood. Since 2012 attending to Istanbul Fashion weeks, Gurel put a greater emphasis on creating custom pieces that reflect the client’s personal style while complimenting their body type. Today, she produces her works in her boutique/shop in Ulus and keeps creating new and hip creations for her customers.y. Where passion for fashion and dedication to quality come together. Our journey began with a dream: to create a brand that empowers individuals to express themselves through clothing that’s not only stylish but also accessible to everyone.
